March 22. 12.30 pm. Dead Man’s Corner, Whitstable Harbour

Starmer wants it both ways. He wants to suck up to Trump while, at the same time, remaining within International Law.
He has failed in both. Not only does Trump despise him, but our involvement in his war of choice makes us complicit and therefore a potential target.
Because the war in Iran is illegal, in both US and International Law. There is no threat, imminent or otherwise, to the United States. The attack upon Iran is not only an act of war, undertaken without the approval of Congress or of the United Nations, but it is also a War of Aggression, as defined by the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, which passed judgement on Nazi war crimes.
To quote: “War is essentially an evil thing. Its consequences are not confined to the belligerent states alone, but affect the whole world. To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.”
Justification

There is no justification whatsoever for allowing British bases to be used in this war.
The distinction between offensive and defensive is stupid.
If a missile from a British base hits a target in Iran, will Iranians take time to determine whether it is a defensive missile or not?
No. They will take it as offensive, regardless of the justification.
British involvement in this war will make us a legitimate target in Iranian eyes, just as the Gulf States have become targets because of the presence of American bases on their soil.
For this reason the Canterbury and Whitstable Stop the War Coalition have called for a demonstration in Whitstable on Sunday the 22 March. Hands Off Iran. Say no to Trump’s Wars.
Assemble at Dead Man’s Corner at Whitstable Harbour at 12.30 P.M—March at 1.P.M to Whitstable Library, Oxford St for a rally with speakers. Speakers to be confirmed.
Bring your banners. Bring your flags. Bring your drums. Bring your whistles. Bring your kids. Bring yourselves. Bring your friends. Make lots of noise. Make sure the whole of Kent knows that we oppose this absurd, obscene, illegal and unjustifiable war.
